Box Score WENHAM, Mass. — No. 4 seed Gordon hosted No. 5 seed Eastern Nazarene in the quarterfinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament and fell 5-2.

The Lions (10-4) won two of the three doubles matches against Fighting Scots (6-5). They then won three of the four singles matches to win the match and advance to the semifinals.

In doubles play, Adele Duval/Emily Ruttkowski defeated Kaelyn Hall/Maddie Berry 8-6 at the No. 1, Sharon Biondi/Lindsey Steelman 9-8 (7-4) defeated Justine Hanson/Gabrielle Brucker at the No. 2, and Caitlin Kwok/Emily Ontiveros defeated Jordan Cressman/Veronica Jimenez 8-0 at the No. 3.

In singles play, Emily Ruttkowski defeated Katherine Jeffreys 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) at the No. 2, Duval defeated Hall 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 3, Steelman defeated Berry 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 at the No. 4, and Brucker defeated Cressman 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 5.

Gordon next plays in the NEWITT Tournament Oct. 13-15.
