BRISTOL, R.I. — No. 4 seed Gordon traveled to take on No. 2 seed Roger Williams in the CCC Women's Soccer Tournament Finals and allowed seven corner kicks in its 1-0 loss.
The teams traded possession back and forth in the first half. The Fighting Scots (11-5-2) had five shots with two being on goal. The Hawks (14-7-2) put two of their four shots on goal.
Lexi Potter's shot in the 18
th minute was saved by Natalie O'Donovan and
Asha Steele's shot in the 30
th minute was also stopped by O'Donovan. Kasey Provost put a shot on target in the 31
st minute, but it was stopped by
Kali Denty to keep the game at 0-0 entering halftime.
In the second half, Roger Williams got on the board in the 51
st minute as Alli Santacroce scored off a free kick. Gordon had six shots the rest of the half with five being on goal and one being a header that went wide of the net.
Kay Silveira's shot in the 89
th minute was on target, but was saved by O'Donovan to seal the win for the Hawks.
