CLERMONT, Fla.—Gordon Softball had a tough pill to swallow to end a 10-game trip, dropping both games on Friday. The Fighting Scots scored 13 runs in the 8 a.m. game, but fell to Minnesota-Morris 15-13. Babson shutout the Scots 7-0 in the finale to send Gordon back to Wenham with a 3-7 record.
The Fighting Scots' bats got better as the week wore on and that was true against on Friday morning. Gordon racked up 16 hits and 13 runs against the Cougars, but fell behind early and could never fully catch up.
The Cougars scored in five of the seven innings, including crooked numbers of three, four and five to put pressure on the Fighting Scots. Gordon countered with four big innings of its own, but a seventh-inning rally fell two runs short in the end.
Senior

Abigail Knowlton (Deer Isle, Maine) had her first two career hits, including an RBI double in the second.
In the finale, Babson's Annie Quine caused the Scots all kind of issues with three RBI singles to pace the Beaver offense. Leslie Moore also knocked in three runs, including a solo homer to cap things off in the seventh.
Ali Reilly struck out five in a complete-game effort to earn a victory in Babson's first game of the season.
