WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon's women's tennis team fell 7-2 to Colby-Sawyer.

The Fighting Scots (0-1) went 1-5 in singles play and 1-2 in doubles play.

In singles competition, Ashley Woodside defeated Justine Hanson 6-3, 7-6 at the No. 1, Yashu Yang defeated Katherine Jeffreys 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 2, Evelyn Miller defeated Kaelyn Hall 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 3, Maddie Berry defeated Maddy Gemerek 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 4, Aislinn O'Connor defeated Gabrielle Brucker 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 5, and Lauren Blanchard defeated Caitlin Kwok 5-7, 6-2, 10-7 at the No. 6.

In doubles competition, Woodside/Yang defeated Hall/Berry 8-2 at the No. 1, Miller/O'Connor defeated Hanson/Brucker at the No. 2, and Jeffreys/Kwok defeated Blanchard/Gemerek at the No. 3.

Gordon next travels to play Simmons Sept. 4 at 11 a.m.
