CASTINE, Maine. — Gordon scored two goals in each half in its 4-1 win against Maine Maritime.
The Fighting Scots (1-0) got on the board first in the ninth minute as
Jill Kefalas scored the first goal of the season.
Asha Steele scored her first goal in the 24
th minute off a pass from
Lexi Potter. Gordon held the Mariners (1-1) to five shots in the first half.
In the second half, Steele scored her second goal in the 74
th minute off a pass from Kefalas.
Devin Lacroix gave the Fighting Scots a four-goal lead in the 75
th minute as she scored her first goal of the season. Maine Maritime scored their only goal of the game in the 77
th minute and were held to only two shots the rest of the game.
Kali Denty (1-0) had three saves for Gordon.
The Fighting Scots next host Maine-Fort Kent Sept. 9 at 1 p.m.
