BOSTON, Mass. — Gordon's women's tennis team swept Simmons 9-0.

The Fighting Scots (1-1) went 6-0 in singles play and 3-0 in doubles play against the Sharks (1-1).

In singles competition, Justine Hanson defeated Jessica Schroedl 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 at the No. 1, Katherine Jeffreys defeated Nickie Nguyen 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 2, Kaelyn Hall defeated Michelle Medici 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 3, Maddie Berry defeated Paola Rios 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 4, Gabrielle Brucker defeated Gail Tynkov 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 5, and Caitlin Kwok defeated Celia Speth 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 6.

In doubles competition, Berry/Hall defeated Schroedl/Rios 8-2 at the No. 1, Brucker/Hanson defeated Nguyen/Johnson 9-7 at the No. 2, and Jeffreys/Kwok defeated Speth/Torres 8-1 at the No. 3.

Gordon next hosts Wentworth in its CCC season opener Sept. 7 at 4 p.m.
