Box Score WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon's women's tennis team defeated Wentworth 7-2 in its Commonwealth Coast Conference opener.

The Fighting Scots (2-1) went 4-2 in singles play and 3-0 in doubles play against the Leopards (0-2)

In singles competition, Ali Sollecito defeated Justine Hanson 3-6, 6-4, 10-3 at the No. 1, Kaelyn Hall defeated Sam Webb 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 2, Maddie Berry defeated Ellen Butts 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 3, Caitlin Kwok defeated Jasmine Andrade 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 4, Emily Ontiveros defeated Sam McGibbon 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 5, and Mackenzie Jones defeated Courtney Barlotta 2-6, 6-4, 11-9 at the No. 6.

In doubles competition, Hall/Berry defeated Sollecito/Butts 8-5 at the No. 1, Hanson/Gabrielle Brucker defeated Webb/McGibbon 8-1 at the No. 2, and Katherine Jeffreys/Kwok defeated Andrade/Jones 8-0 at the No. 3.

Gordon next travels to play Roger Williams Sept. 9 at 1 p.m.
