Scots Face New England's Finest At Conn College Invite

On a blustery, cold, and rainy day, Gordon College Men's and Women's Cross Country traveled to Waterford, Connecticut to participate in the Connecticut College Invitational and sported 13 personal bests on the women's side and seven on the men's as they prepared for the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship.

For the women, Gordon received solid performances by both veterans and rookies, as Julia Drewicke (24:30), Bridget Hill (24:30), Angie Epplett (25:03), Kara Polsgrove (25:11), Bridget Mellon (25:33), Keanna Smigliani (26:15), and Carissa Casey (26:31) took the top seven spots to pace the effort in the 307-runner crowd.

On the men's side, Chandler Hansen (28:22), William Hunt (29:06), Sebastian Toro (29:26), Mike Mckee (29:44), Chase Silvia (31:07), Ben Abbett (31:37), and Philip Horseman (32:00) rounded out the top Gordon performers in a field of 402 total runners on the sloppy 8k course.

The Scots have two weeks to prepare before hosting the CCC Championship on Saturday, October 27. The women's race will kickoff at 11 a.m. while the men follow shortly thereafter at noon.
