In the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's tennis semifinals today, the Fighting Scots took the short trek to Beverly, Massachusetts to face the No. 2 Gulls of Endicott College and were handed a 5-0 decision to finish the season with a record of 7-5 overall (5-2 CCC).
In the first completed match of the day, the Gulls' doubles pairing of Justine Hoover (Fr./Wallingford, Conn.) and Margot Andreasen (Sr./Portland, Maine) defeated
Anne Carsey and
Kaelyn Hall, 8-3, at No. 2 to set the early tone for the hosts. Gordon's
Justine Hanson and
Gabrielle Brucker worked to get things going at No. 1, picking up some key games but in the end ceding 8-5 defeat to fellow All-CCC First Team duo, Gretta Hartman (So./Glastonbury, Conn.) and Fernanda Trevino (Fr./Dallas, Texas). Determined to expand the lead, Endicott's Hayley Barnett (Sr./Marlboro, N.J.) and Riley Fitzgibbons (Sr./Killingworth, Conn.) dispatched
Caitlin Kwok and
Jordyn Maddex, 8-3, at No. 3 to build a hefty lead heading into singles play.
With Endicott needing just two more matches to seal the win, Trevino got the 6-1, 6-0 victory over Hall at No. 4 to position Endicott for the clean sweep and Hoover finished things off at No. 2 with a 6-0, 6-1 clincher over Carsey to defeat the Scots, 5-0, and advance to the CCC title match against Nichols College on Saturday at 1 p.m.

- Gordon's No. 2 doubles team of Anne Carsey and Kaelyn Hall finished the season with an impressive 8-2 overall record (6-1 CCC), while similarly Justine Hanson rounded out the season at 8-3 overall (5-2 CCC) at No. 1 singles.
