BRISTOL, R.I. — Gordon traveled to take on No. 2 seed Roger Williams in the quarterfinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament at the Campus Recreation Center and grabbed 49 rebounds in its 74-36 loss.
The Hawks (22-4) started the game with a 9-2 run for a seven-point lead. The Fighting Scots (8-18) cut the lead down to four points by the end of the first quarter. A free-throw by
Meghan Foley made it a three-point game with eight minutes left in the second quarter. Roger Williams closed out the first half with a 13-5 run to make it a 30-19 game at halftime.
Jenna Olson scored six points and grabbed four rebounds in the first half. Foley scored six points, pulled in seven rebounds, dished out two assists, and recorded two steals.
The Hawks started the second half with a 23-11 run to stretch their lead out to 23 points. They scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to seal the win. Roger Williams shot 57.6 percent from the floor in the second half and had a 21-18 rebound advantage.
Olson led the team with ten points and also had six rebounds. Foley scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Jess Ryan also scored eight points and pulled in four rebounds.
Sarah Gibbs led the team with ten rebounds.
