CUPERTINO, Calif. — Gordon's women's tennis team played De Anza College at the De Anza College Tennis Courts and lost 5-4.

The Fighting Scots (7-8) went 3-3 in singles play and 1-2 in doubles play to the Dons.

In singles competition, Sandra DeFrancescu defeated Katherine Jeffreys 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 1, Maria Zimmerman defeated Maddie Berry 6-0, 6-3 at the No. 2, Gabrielle Brucker defeated Angeline Gagkano 6-3, 6-7, 10-6 at the No. 3, Caitlin Kwok defeated Carlee Ellis 6-4, 2-6, 10-3 at the No. 4, Emily Ontiveros defeated Sakina Kwahi 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 5, and Sharon Xio defeated Courtney Barlotta 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 6.

In doubles competition, Berry/Brucker defeated DeFrancescu/Zimmerman 9-7 at the No. 1, Gagkano/Ellis defeated Jeffreys/Kwok 8-6 at the No. 2, and Kwahi/Xio defeated Ontiveros/Victoria Kaznowski 8-1 at the No. 3.

Gordon wraps up its California trip with a match against Canada College tomorrow March 15 at 2 p.m. PDT/5 p.m. EDT in Redwood City, Calif.
