WENHAM, Mass. — No. 8 seed Gordon played No. 7 seed Nichols in Game 8 of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Softball Tournament at the Softball Field and recorded five hits in its 1-0 loss which eliminated them from the tournament.

The Bison (16-18-1) scored their only run in the bottom of the fourth inning as Taylor Commesso grounded out to second base to score Cara Mayhew. The Fighting Scots (12-23) left two runners on base in the third, two on base in the fifth, and one on base in the sixth. Nichols sealed the win by striking out the side.

Sarah Ryder, Karissa Hatchell, Jasmine Mullally, and Rose Shannon all batted 1-for-3.

Caitlin Catalanotto pitched six innings and struck out five batters.
