NEW LONDON, N.H. — Gordon traveled to play Colby-Sawyer in non-conference action for its season opener at Kelsey Courts and fell 6-3.
The Fighting Scots (0-1) went 2-4 in singles play and 1-2 in doubles play against the Chargers (1-0).
In singles competition, Yashu Yang defeated
Justine Hanson 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 1,
Anne Carsey Maddy Gemerek 3-6, 6-3, 10-5 at the No. 2, Aislinn O'Connor defeated
Gabrielle Brucker 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 3, Anna Kopituk defeated
Jordyn Maddex 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 4,
Kaelyn Hall defeated Alexa Conlin 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 5, and Hilary Boucher defeated
Caitlin Kwok 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 6.
In doubles competition, Yang/Kopituk defeated Hanson/Brucker 8-5 at the No. 1, O'Connor/Gemerek defeated Carsey/Maddex 8-3 at the No. 2, and Hall/Kwok defeated Conlin/Lopes 8-4 at the No. 3.
Gordon next hosts Simmons in non-conference play Sept. 3 at 1 p.m.
