WENHAM, Mass. — Gordon hosted Nichols in its Commonwealth Coast Conference opener at the Brigham Athletic Complex and fell 7-2.

The Fighting Scots (1-2, 0-1 CCC) went 2-4 in singles play and 0-3 in doubles play against the Bison (4-0, 1-0 CCC).

In singles competition, Amarie Settiwongse defeated Justine Hanson 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 1, Anne Carsey defeated Alanna Judd due to injury retirement, Kara Stankewitz defeated Gabrielle Brucker 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 3, Megan Nathanson defeated Kaelyn Hall 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 4, Emily Ontiveros defeated Lindsey Kaplan due to injury retirement, and Juliana Herrera defeated Anna Mullane 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 6.

In doubles competition, Settiwongse/Isabelle Leonardi defeated Hanson/Brucker 8-3 at the No. 1, Kaplan/Judd defeated Carsey/Hall 8-4 at the No. 2, and Nathanson/Rachel McDonald defeated Ontiveros/Mullane 8-0 at the No. 3.
