Track & Field Competes At Corsair Classic

Gordon's Men's & Women's Track & Field hit the road, traveling to UMass Dartmouth to compete in the Corsair Classic today. The women recorded 12 personal bests on the day while the men produced six.

The women's 4x100m relay team consisting of Maddie St. JulienAbigail BaierRachael Farah, and Delaney McDonnell nearly raced their way to a personal best time with a finish of 53.45. Emma Shearer, McDonnell, Keanna Smigliani, and Farrah finished two seconds ahead of their previous best time in the 4x400m relay. In the 400m, Farrah and Taemar Shearer each recorded their best times, crossing the finish at 1:07.08 and 1:07.77, respectively. Roxanne Gonzalez notched two personal bests with a time of 15.07 in the 100m and a 34.25 in the 200m.

Senior, Sinead Miller, notched a personal best in the high hurdles, finishing with a time of 18.7. In the 400m hurdles, rookie Emma Shearer posted a 1:11.49 result. 

The personal bests kept rolling in for the Scots as Gordon moved into field events. Hannah Hansen and Joanna Randall each collected bests in the shot put, while E. Shearer and Randall posted their bests throws in discus. Rebekah Hinrichsen finished off the field events in javelin recording a distance of 30.24m.

The men's 4x100m relay of Matthew Draper, Chase Silvia, Jacob Couture, and Kevin LeBlanc started off the men's personal bests with a time of 47.74. In the 4x400m relay, setting a new best time of 3:56.17, shaving ten seconds off their previous time was LeBlanc, Silvia, Sebastian Toro, and Ben Schneider. 

Heading into the field events, Gordon earned four of their six personal bests with Chase Draus leading the way with two separate bests, booking a distance of 27.75m in the discus and 19.53m in the hammer throw. Steven French also earned a solid hammer throw with a distance of 22.06. Silvia capped off the meet with a 37.23m javelin throw.

The Scots head to Weston, Massachusetts on April 5 to compete in Regis College's Spring Classic.
