Hosting neighbor Endicott College and fellow Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opponent Salve Regina University today in the Battle of the North Shore at Gordon College, the Fighting Scots saw several strong individual performances on both the men's and women's sides to kick off the 2019 cross country season.
Gordon's own
Evan Page was the top finisher on the day for the men, coming in well ahead of the field at 16:38 on the 5k course. Teammate
Sebastian Toro was the next Scot to cross at 17:47, followed by
Jonathan Van Bebber and
William Hunt who finished just seconds apart at 18:02 and 18:06, respectively.
For the women, Bridget Hill had a strong showing for Gordon with a 20:41 5k result, good enough for third overall in a crowd of top Endicott runners. Keanna Smigliani and Angie Epplett followed shortly thereafter at 22:01 and 22:08.
The tri-meet was a positive early season challenge for the Fighting Scots before they take on the CCC's University of New England on September 14 in Biddeford, Maine.
