Top-Ranked Bison Snap Scots' Win Streak

Box Score Gordon College Women's Tennis continued Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action today by traveling to Dudley, Massachusetts to face off against the Bison of Nichols College. The Bison raced to an 8-1 victory over the Fighting Scots to remain unbeaten in conference play while the Scots pick up just their second loss in league action.

Nichols' Lindsay Kaplan (Sr./Boca Raton, Fla.) and Kara Stankewitz (So./Cologne, Germany) drew first blood as the senior and sophomore duo defeated Anna Mullane and Abigail Graves in No. 3 doubles, 8-3. The Bison kept it rolling by grabbing wins in the other two doubles slots taking the 3-0 edge heading into singles competitions.

The Bison earned wins from Izzy Leonardi (Sr./North Hampton, N.H.) and Amarie Settiwongse (Sr./Bangkok, Thailand) in the No. 5 and No. 1 positions to clinch the victory for the home team. Despite Nichols already having the match in hand, the Scots' Graves got the better of her opponent, Victoria Lussier (So./Attleboro, Mass.) in No. 6 singles (6-1, 6-2) to prevent the shutout.

Next up for the Fighting Scots is a CCC matchup at crosstown rival, Endicott College on Wednesday, October 2 for a 3:30 p.m. start time.
