In a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) showdown between Gordon College Women's Basketball and host University of New England (UNE) this evening, the Fighting Scots maintained control through three quarters of action before the Nor'easters took over in the closing minutes for an eventual 58-50 win. The Scots drop to 10-7 overall and 5-3 in (CCC) play while the Nor'easters improve to 13-4 (7-1 CCC).
Meghan Foley had a game-high 19 points,
Sarah Gibbs brought down a game-high 14 rebounds as well as eight points,
Olivia Gagnon had eight points, and
Madison Wynbeek netted eight points and grabbed seven rebounds.

How It Happened
- A Foley jumper with 2:52 on the board gave the Scots a 10-8 lead before Gagnon drained a three to give Gordon a five-point lead with just over two minutes remaining in the first. However, Chaput hit a jumper as time expired to cut UNE's deficit to three heading into the second frame.
- Despite UNE getting within a point early in the second, the Scots did not relinquish the lead, leading by as many as nine with three remaining until the break. Not going away quietly, UNE closed out the frame on a 9-2 run to close the gap to two points at the half (Gordon 27-25 UNE).
- Trailing 38-27 midway through the third, UNE scored 13 unanswered points to take the 40-38 edge going into the final ten.
- In the opening minutes of the fourth, Gibbs, Foley, and Wynbeek each hit a jumper to put the Scots back on top, 44-40. UNE knotted it up at 44-all before Serianna Anderson successfully converted an "and one" to take a three-point lead.
- Shortly after, UNE's Cavallaro sunk a pair of three-pointers to swing the momentum into the Nor'easters' favor down the stretch, taking the eventual 58-50 victory.

- The Scots shot .833 from the charity stripe which is a team-high on the season.
