Box Score Hosting the Nor'easters from The University of New England at the Bennett Center this evening, Gordon College Women's Basketball went head to head with the Commonwealth Coast Conference No. 2 team before UNE orchestrated a dominant fourth quarter to take a 77-55 win over the Fighting Scots. UNE improves to 18-6 and 11-2 in CCC play while the Scots drop to 14-10 and 9-6 in league action.
For the Scots,
Meghan Foley had 17 points, eight rebounds and six steals,
Madison Wynbeek had 16 points, nine rebounds, and three steals, whileÂ
Serianna Anderson netted 14 points.
Abby Cavallaro (So./South Portland, Maine) had 22 points and nine rebounds, Jocelyn Chaput (Sr./Nashua, N.H.) registered 12 points and eight assists, while Sadie Nelson (Sr./Windham, Maine), Ashley Coneys (Sr./Dover, N.H.), and Kaylee Beyor (Fr./South Burlington, Vt.) each booked 10 points each in the win.
How It Happened
- Anderson converted an "and one" six minutes into the first to give the Scots a 13-7 lead. With just under two minutes to go, UNE hit a three to make it a one-point game. However, Olivia Gagnon and Foley each found the bottom of the net to give Gordon a 20-14 edge heading into the second quarter.
- The Scots led by as many as 10 early in the second before UNE went on an 11-0 run to go on top 30-29 with 3:54 remaining.
- Wynbeek hit a layup with 12 seconds left before the buzzer to put Gordon up by one heading into the locker rooms.
- A back and forth third quarter resulted in five lead changes with UNE getting the upper hand late as the Nor'easters had a 52-48 lead to close out the third.
- UNE's offense clicked on every level in the final frame to help them secure the CCC victory.

- The Scots travel to Dudley, Mass. on Saturday, February 22 to face Nichols College at 1 p.m.
- GCWB has recorded 10 or more steals for the second straight game. The Scots had 13 tonight.
