Scot Secure First Win In Hilton Head With 8-1 Victory

Box Score The Gordon College Women's Tennis team earned their first victory in Hilton Head this morning when they faced off against Mount Union. The Fighting Scots dominated the doubles competition to put them in position to take the commanding 8-1 victory over the Raiders.

To start doubles, Anna Mullane and Abigail Graves awarded the Scots their first point of the match after taking the 8-2 victory over their opponent. The Scots' No.1 and No. 2 doubles also found themselves on the winning sides of their respective sets to give the Scots the 3-0 cushion heading to singles.

Mullane stayed hot as she she blanked her opponent in the No. 5 spot to give the Scots another point and bring them one win away from winning the match. The Raiders' Cora Shane (So./Cuyahoga Falls) gave her squad some hope when she secured the hard fought victory in the No.1 spot.  Anne Carsey quickly halted any type of comeback for the Raiders when she won her set to win the match point for the Scots. The Scots would stop there as they won the following three single sets to take the dominant 8-1 victory.

The Scots are back in action on Thursday, March 12 when they take on Milligan College at 5 p.m.
