Annette Kim,
Jordyn Maddex, and
Madison West represented the Gordon College Women's Tennis team at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional tournament this weekend hosted by Bowdoin College.
Doubles partners Kim and Maddex were bested in the opening round by
Lili Goshgarian and
Clara Goshgarian from Smith College, 8-3.
In singles, both Maddex and West drew tough matchups in the field of 64 in the singles "A" draw against
Isabella Hartman of the Trinity College Bantams and
Maria Nikolishin of the Emerson College Lions. Both Maddex and West were defeated by their counterparts concluding their journey in Maine.
The lone Fighting Scot in the singles "B" draw was Kim who was looking for a bit of payback against her earlier doubles opponent Goshgarian of Smith. Kim earned a well deserved 8-6 victory over Goshgarian to advance. The Scots' journey would come to an end in the next round of 32 as Babson's
Laura De La Espriella came out on top to defeat Kim, 8-2.
Gordon returns to action on Tuesday, October 5 as they travel to Milton, Mass. to square off against the Curry College Colonels in conference action.
