Scots Lock In CCC Semifinals After 2-1 Victory Over Rams

Box Score Hosting the number No. 5 seeded-Suffolk University Rams in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Quarterfinals, Gordon College Women's Soccer went all out, ending the  Rams' season in a chilling 2-1 victory.

How It Happened
  • The Rams raced out from the opening whistle trying to upset their hosts and their aggressiveness paid off with knocking in the first goal just over six minutes into the contest.
  • However, Gordon answered right back, putting immense pressure on the Rams' defense. In the 33rd minute, the Fighting Scots' Shelby Jones brought the ball to the end line and slid it to the feet of Sarah Sierzenga who ripped one in past the Rams' keeper to lock it up at 1-1 heading into the half.
  • In the 73rd minute, Calla Ashley drove down the right side, sending in a beautiful cross to teammate Kendra Wentling who immediately headed it to Jones to double up the Rams, 2-1.
  • The Scots remained in control for the remainder of regulation, only surrendering one shot attempt from the Rams to secure the 2-1 victory and advance to the semifinals.
Beyond The Box Score
