The Gordon College Women's Soccer team traveled to Milton, Massachusetts for a contest against the Curry College Colonels this evening. The Fighting Scots netted a pair of goals to bookend the evening edging their hosts, 2-1.
How It Happened
- Just 12 minutes into the first half, Abbey Engle played a beautiful through ball from deep in the midfield, finding teammate Savannah Metz who took one shot and finished at the far post to put the Fighting Scots up 1-0.
- Ten minutes later, the Colonels evened out the score thanks to a goal from Madison Frye.
- In the 29th minute, after a scramble for the ball, sophomore Calla Ashley came away with it and finished a long shot from outside the 18 to give the Scots the 2-1 lead and eventual victory.
- Gordon keeper Tori Paine recorded six saves in the win.
The Scots return to the Brigham Athletic Complex on Saturday, May 1 to take on Bridgewater State University at 1 p.m.
