Rodriguez, Talesnick Guide Scots to 2-0 Victory

Box Score Hitting the road this afternoon, Gordon College Women's Soccer traveled into Boston to face the Rams of Suffolk University for their first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) competition of the 2021 season. Gordon's offense enabled the Scots to snatch a win from the Rams 2-0, improving the Scots' record to 3-1, and start their conference record in the win column at 1-0.

How It Happened
  • The Fighting Scots aimed to get on the board first when Calla Ashley showed off her signature attack skills, challenging the Ram's goalie early on in the game. However, Suffolk's keeper held strong saving three pummeling shots from the Scots.
  • After 25 scoreless minutes, senior Emily Rodriguez finally broke the barrier by rallying her first goal of the season with help from Shelby Jones, putting the Scots on the board 1-0.
  • In the 65th minute, sophomore Taylor Talesnick was able to pierce through the Rams gritty defense, scoring her first collegiate goal and locking in the 2-0 win for the Scots.
Beyond the Box Score
