The Gordon College Women's Tennis team picked up their second straight Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) victory after defeating the Golden Bears of Western New England, 7-2 on the road. With the win, the Fighting Scots improve to 2-1 while the Golden Bears drop to 1-3.
The Fighting Scots' No. 2 doubles partners,
Madison West and Kristen Kendall got things going for the blue and white with an 8-0 shutout over their counterparts.
Jordyn Maddex and
Annette Kim took care of business on the No. 1 court with an 8-5 victory over WNE's top pairing. The No. 3 court was a battle, with WNE edging out the Scots, 8-6.
With the 2-1 advantage heading into singles competitions, Gordon earned wins from West (6-1, 6-1) and Kim (6-1, 6-1) to take the 4-1 lead. Kendall sealed the deal for the Scots with her 6-2, 6-0 win in the No. 4 slot before the Scots' eventual 7-2 victory.
Gordon returns to action on Monday, September 27 as they travel to Eastern Nazarene in non-conference play.
