The Gordon College Men's Swim team traveled to Standish, Maine this afternoon for a double-duel meet against the Saint Joseph's Monks and the Husson University Eagles. Saint Joseph's defeated Gordon, 88-59 and Husson bested the Scots, 151-29.
Kicking off the day for the Fighting Scots was
Zachary Barneson who came in third place in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 31.60. Drastically trimming his time in the 1650 freestyle,
John Sullivan hit the wall at the 19:48.41 mark which was 19 seconds faster than his previous time of 20:09.49 which was recorded at the Bridgewater Invitational on December 4. Adding to the point tally again was Sullivan who finished in second place with a time of 2:25.35 in the 200 yard butterfly. Barneson swam his way to his best finish of the day to date as the freshman came in second for his 2:39.33 time in the 200 yard backstroke.
The Fighting Scots return to Wenham for a meet against Brandeis on Friday, January 21 at 7 p.m.Â
