MEET RESULTS
Hosting the Brandeis University Judges tonight at the Bennett Center, Gordon College Women's Swimming battled in each event but was topped, 162-72.
Kicking off the evening in the 200 yard medley relay,
Lillyan DeFeo,
Charlotte Cummings,
Gina Ouellette, and
Monicka Pradieu secured a third place finish with a time of 2:23.08. The Scots continued to make a splash with their top three finishes as Cummings booked a 13:30.57 time in the 1000 yard freestyle shortly after. In the 200 yard freestyle,
Grace Haxhinasto hit the wall at 2:23.75 which granted a fourth place finish for the freshman. In the following event, DeFeo was the third best swimmer in the 50 yard backstroke with her 40.32 time. Additionally, in the same event, Pradieu crashed into the wall just behind her team at 40.64. In the 100 yard butterfly,
Olivia Rose touched the finish just .37 behind the second place finisher, recording a time of 1:07.57. Meanwhile, newcomer Haxhinasto trailed her opponent in the 50 yard freestyle by just .4 to record another third place finish. In the best finish of the day for the blue and white, Rose finished the 10 yard breaststroke in 1:19.01. Quickly outdoing the Scots' best, the captain (Rose) earned a top place finish in the 50 yard butterfly as the senior swam back to base in 30.00 flat. Coming in just behind Rose was Ouellette who posted a time of 33.67. Adding another first place finish to the Scots' cap was
Abigail Van Brunt whose time of 1:39.81 gave Gordon another top spot. Capping off the meet on a high note, Rose, Haxhinasto, Pradieu, and Van Brunt steam rolled past the competition with a time of 2:09.10 in the 200 yard freestyle relay to earn first place.
The Fighting Scots return to the pool on Friday, January 28 as they travel to Waltham, Mass. to square off against the Brandies Judges once again at 6 p.m.
