Scots Tie Pride For Second Place At RWU Invitational

MEET RESULTS

Gordon College Men's Swimming opened up their 2022-2023 season on the road at the Roger Williams Invitational in Bristol, Rhode Island. Along with the host team, Roger Williams, the other competitors were Regis, the University of Saint Joseph as well as the University of New England. The Fighting Scots collected 38 points to match Regis for a second place finish, while the Roger Williams Hawks took the crown with a score of 311. 

The relay team of Brenndan Teeter, Zachary Barneson, John Sullivan, and Major Adiar just finished out of the top three as the quad came in fourth place (1:57.90), just two seconds behind the Blue Jays of Saint Joseph's. In the 200 yard IM, Teeter and Sullivan came in eighth and ninth, respectively, after hitting the wall at 2:19.47 and 2:20.79. Then, in the 100 yard butterfly, Sullivan booked an eighth place finish thanks to a time of 1:02.33. Capping off the day with the best placement of the day, rookie Teeter touched the wall in the 100 yard backstroke at 1:02.11 to come in third place. 

The Fighting Scots return to the Bennett Center a week from today as the blue and white host Colby-Sawyer at 1 p.m.
