How It Happened
- A pair of free throws from Lomonaco cut the deficit to five points with two and a half minutes to go in the first, but the Bears finished out the frame on an 8-0 run to lead 23-10 heading into the second quarter.
- I. Rivera opened up the second with a jumper before knocking in two from the charity stripe 20 seconds later to cut Coast Guard's advantage to nine points in the first minute of the quarter. The home team widened the gap and led by as many as 18 but I. Rivera continued to shoot, scoring 10 of the Scots' 19 second quarter points to make it a 10-point game at the half (39-29).
- Gordon held the upper hand in the third, orchestrating a pair of small runs and ultimately made it a two possession game heading into the final 10 minutes of regulation (50-44).
- The Scots came within just two points thanks to back-to-back layups from Noyes (55-53) with 6:06 to go in the fourth. Soon after, the Bears were able to stretch their lead to seven points but an 'and one' from Ami Rivera once again put the Scots just two points away from tying the game. However, the home team knocked in a timely three to keep the blue and white's comeback at bay to escape with a 67-63 win over the Scots.Â
