MEET RESULTS
After a two week hiatus, Gordon College Women's Swimming traveled to Bridgewater, Massachusetts to compete at the Bridgewater State (BSU) Invitational today against their hosts BSU, Westfield State, Regis, Western New England, UMass Dartmouth, Plymouth State and Rhode Island College. The Fighting Scots came int sixth place after a team score of 282.5.
Katherine Maloney continued to make a splash today as the long distance swimmer took home second place in the 1000 yard freestyle after booking a time of 12:16.83.
Janelle Maxwell and
Gina Ouellette finished in seventh and eighth place, respectively after completing the 50 yard butterfly in 32.71 and 33.64. Continuing to be successful in the freestyle, Maloney was the third swimmer to hit the wall as the clock struck 2:14.70 a few events later. then, Maxwell again finish in the top-half, this time in the 50 yard freestyle after securing 11th place out of 29 swimmers (28.82). Mia Frazier came in ninth place (26 swimmers) thanks to a time of 1:03.27 in the 100 yard freestyle. In the same event, Ouellette came in 14th place after coming in just three second behind her teammate with a time of 1:06.63. Then, in the 100 yard IM, Maxwell had the sixth best time (1:12.30) as she continued to collect high finishes on the afternoon. In yet another long distance event, Maloney came in the top-three after swimming the 500 yard freestyle in just 5:58.63 to beat out 15 other swimmers. Rounding out the invitational, Frazier scored a sixth place finish in the 50 yard while
Lily Brooks earned an eighth place finish after their times of 32.02 and 35.28, respectively.
This is the final meet of 2022 and the Fighting Scots will next hit the water on Saturday, January 7 as they head up to Standish, Maine to face the Saint Joseph's Monks and Husson at 12 p.m.
