How It Happened
- The Brewers jumped out to a 15-4 lead after 3:53 minutes of action, however, the Scots chipped away to shrink their deficit in the remaining time to close out the first, 13-17.Â
- After almost two minutes of scoreless play, Vassar tacked on a point to their advantage but not long after, Gordon's Wynbeek brought the game within one basket after back-to-back layups at the 6:33 mark (17-19). The Brewers were able to regain a seven-point lead but A. Rivera sunk one from behind the arc to make the score 20-24. It wasn't until 1:12 left in the half when the Fighting Scots grabbed their first edge of the game thanks to a Wynbeek jumper to pull ahead, 28-27.Â
- Coming back from the half, Vassar made sure to take back their advantage (29-28) before continuing to add to their lead to enter the final frame, 47-40.
- The Scots booked the first basket of the last quarter with 6:50 remaining on the clock to bring the score to 43-47 after Serianna Anderson landed one from downtown. Moments later, A. Rivera hit a layup to make it a two-point game (45-47) with just under six minutes remaining. The teams traded points until the Brewers took advantage of the charity stripe to regain the double-digit lead with 45 seconds left before taking the eventual 62-49 win over the Scots.Â
