The Gordon College Men's Track & Field Team ventured to Medford, Massachusetts to compete at the Tufts Invitational today.Ā
In field events,
Alexander Ferris came in fourth place after he threw the javelin 47.17m, beating out Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) rivals Suffolk and Wentworth who came in fifth and sixth place, respectively.
Chase Silvia was the top CCC student-athlete in the high jump afterĀ securing a seventh place finishĀ thanks to a 1.80m performance.Ā
Joshua Backert came in fifth place in the 400m dash after crossing the line with a time of 50.72 ahead of his CCC competitors. Ferris onceĀ again came in the top ten as the junior ran the 400m hurdles in 1:02.55 which put him in fifth place, followed by teammate
Luke Hart who came in seventh place with his time of 1:06.47. Long distance runner
Zachary Smith completed the 5000m run in 15:37.81 which was the seventh fastest time in the event. Wrapping up a positive day for the blue and white were

Joseph Tibbles,
Alexander Ferris, and Backert who paced the 4x400m relay to take the top spot with a time of 3:26.70.Ā
The Fighting Scots return to action next Saturday, April 9 to host the Gordon Invitational at the Brigham Athletic Complex.
