Gordon College Women's Track & Field competed at the Tufts Invitational today in Medford, Massachusetts.Â
Long distance runner
Rachel Brennan dominated the 10000m run where the sophomore not only secured the top spot in the event but also crushed a Gordon record after completing the run in 39:02.88. The previous record has been set in stone since 2007 when Sarah Loy earned a time of 40:27.14. In the 3000m steeplechase,
Emma Shearer came in third place after sporting a time of 13:10.33. Shearer again finished in the top-ten after a ninth place finish in the 400m hurdles thanks to a time of 1:14.93. Coming in eighth place, freshman
Amaris Goodwin crossed the finish line at 26.68 in the 200m dash.
After an impressive showing a week ago,
Abigail Wirling continued to impress as the senior came in fourth place after sending the shot put 10.38m.
The Fighting Scots look to next Saturday, April 9 as they host the Gordon Invitational at the Brigham Athletic Complex.Â
