MEET RESULTS

Welcoming eight other teams to the Brigham Athletic Complex today for the Gordon Spring Invitational, the Fighting Scots collected a number of first place finishes on the day.

In the 1500m run, Rachel Brennan turned on the jets in the last 100m, bypassing the University of New England's Jasmine Syed to capture the top spot after finishing the race in 4:52.35, breaking her own school record. The Fighting Scots saw two familiar names in the 100m hurdles as rookie Wren Worth came in sixth place after sporting a time of 18.33 while Abigail Baier came across the finish line at the 19.34 mark to book a 10th place finish. Ellie Scully finished just four second behind the top competitor in the 400m dash as the freshman came blazing through the line with a time of 1:06.66 (sixth place). In the 200m dash, Amaris Goodwin was just narrowly edged by Plymouth State's Athena Comeau, coming in second (27.27), Baier secured a seventh place finish (29.37), while Delaney McDonnell and Allison Subat finished 10th and 11th, respectively with their times of 30.10 and 30.21. With the long runners in the 5000m, Anna Keyes and Carolyn Day went stride for stride with Keyes edging out her teammate by just .50.  Later in the afternoon, Goodwin, Emma Shearer, Rachel Brennan, and Baier was the second relay squad to hit the finish line thanks to their time of 4:19.84.

Rolling over to the field events, senior Abigail Wirling catapulted the shot put 10.35m to solidify first place. Additionally, Kewana Gooden, and Madison Ahern came in third and sixth, respectively after throws of 9.78m and 8.78m. Wirling and Gooden double-dipped with their top-ten finishes as the duo, along with Shearer came in the top-10: Wirling came in fourth (31.01m), Shearer was eighth (27.61m), and Gooden followed in ninth place (27.41). Baier represented the blue and white in the long jump, as the senior recorded a distance of 4.67m which put her in sixth place. It was Wirling and Hannah Hansen who had the best day in javelin for the Scots, with Wirling coming in fifth (26.20m) and Hansen coming in seventh (22.53m). Continuing to roll in the high jump, Eden Bailey earned a height of 1.40m (sixth place) while Baier's distance was 1.30m (ninth place). Wrapping up the field events, McDonnell jumped her way to a seventh place finish after going 9.18m.

The Scots return to action next Saturday, April as they compete at the Connecticut College Invitational.
