MEET RESULTS
After a record-breaking season, a select handful of Scots from Gordon College Women's Track and Field traveled to Williamstown, Massachusetts for the DIII New England Championships hosted by Williams College where the Fighting Scots continued to crush records and surpass their opponents.
Abigail Baier continued to turn heads, starting off the meet for the Scots by competing in the Heptathlon where she scored a total of 3789 points, absolutely demolishing her own school record previously set exactly three weeks ago on April 16, 2022 at the Connecticut College Invitational (3537). After Baier's second attempt in the long jump event, the student-athlete smashed another Gordon record thanks to launching herself 5.09m before upping the record to 5.12m in her final jump to secure second place. In the 800m, Baier earned first place after crossing the finish in 2:26.48, a whole four seconds ahead of the next finisher. The star track and field athlete went on to land fourth place in the 200m dash (27.89), fifth place in the javelin (24.92m) and sixth in the shot put (8.97m). Overall, the dominant senior's multitude of points earned her an impressive 5th place in all-region after booking a top-10 finish in all seven of her events.
Meanwhile,
Rachel Brennan earned a ninth place finish in the 10000m race to etch her name in the school record books once again with a new and improved time of 38:37.56. Additionally, Last week's CCC Rookie of the Week,
