Scots Secure W Over Monks On The Road

MEET RESULTS

After nearly a month-long layoff during Christmas break, Gordon College Men's Swimming took the squad on the road for a tri-meet against their hosts the Saint Joseph College (SJC) Monks as well as the Husson University Eagles in Standish, Maine today.

John Sullivan got things going for the blue and white after the junior came in second place in the 1650 yard freestyle after hitting the wall at the 19:16.12 mark. In the 200 yard freestyle, Major Adair came crashing into the wall with a time of 2:02.92 to earn the rookie a third place finish. Fellow rookie Brenndan Teeter was the fourth swimmer to finish the 200 yard IM after sporting a time of 2:17.69. Teeter later improved his placement as the first year came in third place in the 100 yard backstroke (1:04.63). Finishing strong, Sullivan powered through in the 200 yard breaststroke and took the top spot thanks to his time of 2:45.12. Then, in the final event for the afternoon, Sullivan, Adair, Zachary Barneson, and Teeter orchestrated a first place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay after recording a time of 3:50.00.

Next up for the Fighting Scots is a meet in Biddeford, Maine against their host U. of New England as well as Maine Maritime on Saturday January 14 at 1 p.m.
