MEET RESULTS

Gordon College Women's Swimming hit the pool once again after an elongated Christmas break layoff as they traveled up to Standish, Maine for a meet against their hosts the Saint Joseph College (SJC) Monks as well as the Husson University Eagles and Elms College Blazers today. 

Kicking of the afternoon in the 200 yard medley relay, Mia Frazier, Ella Schissler, Janelle Maxwell, and Katherine Maloney teamed up to secure a second place finish thanks to a time of 2:13.08. In the next event, Maloney and teammate Grace Haxhinasto made it a three-four punch in the 1650 yard freestyle (21:06.55, 21:58.13). Maxwell added another second place finish to her day as the senior swam the 50 yard freestyle in just 28.75. Haxhinasto recorded her second fourth place finish on the afternoon after coming in fourth in the 200 yard IM (2:48.65), just a few ticks ahead of teammate Gina Ouellettee who came in fifth (2:52.04). Senior Maxwell continued her successful day as the senior along with Ouellette earned third and fourth place, respectively, thanks of times of 31.89 and 32.24. For her second third place finish today, Maloney swam the 100 yard freestyle in 1:03.57 which was just three seconds off the first place finisher. Frazier returned to the lanes for the 100 yard backstroke where the rookie's time of 1:08.64 lifted her to second place and capped off the afternoon with a fourth place finished in the 500 yard freestyle after touching the wall at 6:41.76. 

The Fighting Scots return to action one week from today as they travel up to Biddeford, Maine for a meet against their hosts the U. of New England as well as Maine Maritime on Saturday January 14 at 1 p.m.
