Gordon College Women's Soccer hit the road today for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest against the Western New England Golden Bears where the Fighting Scots gave their hosts their first league loss of the season in a 2 - 0 victory.

How It Happened

• The Fighting Scots out-shot the Golden Bears 9 - 3 in the first 45 minutes of action, but neither side was able to break through as the scoreboard read 0 - 0 at the break.
• Gordon's rookies stirred up magic in the 77th minute as Francie Leffler fed Eowyn Lapp who ripped a shot past the WNE keeper to put Gordon on top, 1 - 0.
• Nine minutes later, the blue and white added an insurance goal to their tally thanks to an Ava Forbes-Smith goal and an assist from Lapp.
• Emily Bengtson made two key saves in the final four minutes to secure the thrilling 2 - 0 win over Western New England.
