Maloney Shines In Scots' Second Meet

MEET RESULTS

Gordon College Women's Swimming traveled up to Keene, New Hampshire for a double dual meet against their hosts, Keene State as well as the Colby-Sawyer Chargers today. Keene State topped the Fighting Scots by a score of 160-61, but the blue and white earned the 114-48 victory over the Chargers. 

Katherine Maloney dominated the 1000 yard freestyle, as the long distance standout booked a time of 12:16.75 to come in first place. In the 50 yard backstroke, Lily Brooks was the third swimmer to touch the finish as the timer read 33.88. Ella Schissler and Brooks made it a two-three punch in the 50 yard breaststroke with times of 42.58 and 46.99, respectively. Rookies Arwen Hefner and Isabella Gadouas were neck and neck in the 50 yard freestyle, collecting second and third place, respectively (28.31, 28.58). M.Kay Farkas and Gadouas finished back to back in the 100 yard freestyle with times of 1:03.28, and 1:05.26. Brooks continued to be a force to be reckoned with as the senior touched the wall at 1:13.30 in the 100 yard backstroke. Maloney once again displayed her endurance in the 500 yard freestyle, claiming first place after completing the event in 5:58.87. For the third time this afternoon, Maloney controlled the pace in the pool, earning yet another crown in the 200 yard IM thanks to a time of 2:32.37.

The Fighting Scots return to action on Friday, October 27 to host the Regis College Pride and the Elms College Blazers at the Bennett Center.
