Scots Take Down Elms In Dual Meet

MEET RESULTS | MEET SCORES

The Gordon College Men's Swim Team took to the pool tonight to take on the Pride of Regis College as well as the Blazers from Elms College at the Bennett Center. Regis was able to defeat the Fighting Scots by a score of 81-64, but the blue and white bested the Blazers, 105-3.

As the solo competitor in the 1000 yard freestyle, John Sullivan secured a time of 11:43.09. Major Adair slid into second place in the 200 yard freestyle thanks to the timer reading 2:05.96. Sailing into the wall just five ticks behind the first place finisher, James Branaugh boasted a time of 2:27.80 in the 200 yard breaststroke. Adair later collected a third place finish (25.92) in the 50 yard freestyle. Almost a photo finish was needed in the 100 yard freestyle where Branaugh took third (52.77). Zachary Barneson followed Sullivan's shoes as the lone swimmer in the 200 yard backstroke, posting a time of 2:40.27. Swimming his way to the best performance on the night, Branaugh's time of 2:16.92 put the newcomer in first place. Sullivan orchestrated a second place finish (5:39.62) in the 500 yard freestyle to cap off the night for the blue and white.

Next up for the Fighting Scots is another home dual meet, this time with Plymouth State and Albertus Magnus on Saturday, November 11 at the Bennett Center.
