Taking a break from conference action on this sunny October afternoon, Gordon College Women's Tennis welcomed the Lions of Emerson College to the Brigham Athletic Complex where the Fighting Scots doubled up the visitors, 6 - 3.
Gordon's rookie No. 2 duo of
Chloe Hanley and
Amanda Kim bested their counterparts 8 - 5, followed by an 8 - 6 win from
Abbigail Fournier and
Hannah Hovda in No. 4 action. Closing out the sweep in doubles were
Annette Kim and
Serena Ross who battled for the 9 -7 (7 - 5) victory in the No. 1 slot.Â
Claiming victories in singles were No. 2 Ross (6 - 1, 6 - 2), No. 3 Hanley (6 - 2, 6 - 0), and Fournier (6 - 0, 6 - 1) which earned the Fighting Scots the 6 - 3 team win.Â
The Fighting Scots compete at NEWITTÂ this weekend before heading to Western New England on October 11 to face the Golden Bears in conference play.Â
