MEET RESULTS
Gordon College Women's Track & Field competed at the Track at New Balance today in the Hampshire College Black Sheep Invitational in Brighton this afternoon.Â
In the mile,
Rachel Brennan came in third place after crossing the finish line with a time of 5:19.26. Additionally, the night before at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, Brennan demolished her own indoor 3000m record set a year ago (10:40.40) by 22 seconds to establish a new personal best as well as a new Gordon College Women's Track & Field record with a time of 10:18.
Sophomore,
Amaris Goodwin earned herself a second place finish in both the 60m dash (8.19) and 200m dash (26.70). Goodwin's 60m dash time was just a tenth of a second off of the school record, and in the 200m, the sophomore finished only behind a student-athlete from the University of Connecticut. Â
Classmate
Carolyn Day came in third place in the 3000m run after completing the event in 11:02.04. Similarly to Goodwin, Day came in behind DI opponents from Northeastern who came in first and second place.
Continuing to make a statement in her track & field debut as a Fighting Scot,
Tiana Fox once again rewrote the record books as the two-sport student-athlete launched the shot put 11.46m (previous record was 10.71m) for a third place finish as well as a spot in the New England Championships later this month. Also in the shot put,
Abigail Wirling came just behind in fifth place after throwing the shot put 10.45m.
The Scots return to Norton, Mass. a week from today as they will participate in the Wheaton Pre/Post Season Meet hosted by the Wheaton College Lyons.
