Pioneers Narrowly Sail Past Scots, 5-4

Box Score Coming off of a win against Johnson & Wales (N.C.), Gordon College Women's Tennis participated in their third game of the Spring Tennis Fest, squaring up against the Marietta College Pioneers where the Fighting Scots fell, 4-5. 

Abbigail Fournier and her partner Kristin Kendall were the second court to finish, earning the first win for the Scots in the No. 2 doubles spot (8-4). 

In singles, A. Fournier continued to shine, booking the Scots' second win of the day after beating her opponent in three close sets (4-6, 6-3, 10-7). Meanwhile, Kendall stayed hot on court No. 5, taking the dominant 6-1, 6-1 win before Hannah Hovda earned the final singles win for the Fighting Scots in the No. 4 spot after another close duel (4-6, 6-3, 10-6), however, it wasn't enough to boost the Scots over the Pioneers, taking the narrow 4-5 loss. 

The Fighting Scots are back in action, tomorrow, March 10 for their last match-up of the Spring Tennis Fest against Messiah at 9 a.m.
