The squads started off with a split in doubles action as
Amanda Moraes and
Allyson Fournier flew over their opponent, 8-6 on court No. 2 before the Scots were able to take the deciding doubles point thanks to a default on court No. 3.Â
Next, in singles
Annette Kim started the Scots off with a victory in the No. 1 slot (6-0, 6-3) before
Abbigail Fournier defeated her counterpart on court No. 2 with the same score (6-0, 6-3). The teams traded wins in the No. 5 and 6 spots due to defaults, but the Blue Jays went on to win the rest of the three singles match-ups to lock in the close 5-4 overall win.Â
