Gordon College Women's Track and Field competed on their home turf at the Brigham Athletic Complex this afternoon as they hosted the first annual Jonathan Tymann Invitational.Â
Rachel Brennan continued to dominate her opponents, taking the top spot in the 1500m race after crossing the finish in 4:52.90 which was almost four whole seconds ahead of the other runners and 0:00.55 away from her current record and personal best. Meanwhile,
Amaris Goodwin earned a silver medal finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.05. In the 400 meter hurdle event,
Eden Bailey posted a seventh place finish as the junior crossed the finish line with a time of 1:19.09. Next, Goodwin continued to roll out the top-finishes as the sophomore booked a third place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.62. Meanwhile, in the 5000 run, senior
Annabel Smith ran her way to second place after crossing the finish in 21:03.16.Â
In field events, Bailey earned a top-10 finish in the javelin throw after launching the javelin 23.87m to book eighth place before the junior took sixth place in the high jump with a jump of 1.43m.
The Fighting Scots are back on the road on Saturday, April 15 when they travel to New London, Connecticut for the Silfen Invitational.Â
