Gordon College has named Head Men's Lacrosse Coach
Brian Lane '15 the interim director of athletics effective August 1. Lane, who holds a bachelor of arts in social work from the College, will continue his head coaching duties for his program during this time of transition.
"I am extremely grateful to President Michael Hammond, Provost Sandra Doneski, and Associate Provost Jon Welty-Peachey for affording me this exciting opportunity," said Lane. "I am excited for the chance to lead the Scots and I look forward to working with the talented coaches and staff in our athletic department. Gordon has established itself as the New England premier Christian college and I look forward to continuing to support the vision and mission for Gordon's Athletic Department."
Lane returned to his alma mater as the head men's lacrosse coach in the fall of 2018. In addition to his head coaching duties, Lane has most recently served as the admissions liaison for athletics.
Welty-Peachey, who spearheaded the interview process for the interim role had this to say about Lane: "Brian is a visionary and highly capable leader who is just the right person to provide leadership for the Athletic Department during this important time of transition. His passion for student-athletes, coupled with strong administrative skills, will help build a highly successful athletics program and continue to elevate the role of athletics in furthering Gordon's mission."
The College has already begun its national search for the next Gordon College Director of Athletics.
