Last Minute Goal Brings Scots And Seahawks To 2-2 Draw

The Gordon College Women's Soccer team hit the road for their second straight road game as they traveled to Newport, Rhode Island to square off against former conference foe Salve Regina this afternoon where the Fighting Scots locked it up at 2 - 2 late to take the draw.

How It Happened
  • Scot rookie Eowyn Lapp got things started for the blue and white as the team's leading goal-scorer put Gordon on top, 1 - 0, 12 minutes after the opening whistle.
  • Gordon took control offensively throughout the remainder of the frame, but were unable to find the back of the netting as the score remained 1 - 0 at halftime.
  • After 34 minutes of quiet action in the second, Salve netted the equalizer before taking the lead in the 87th minute, 2 - 1.
  • Battling until the end, Gordon's Kristi DiRico laced in a shot to knot it up at 2 - 2 with 53 ticks left in regulation to come away with the draw.
