Welcoming the Salem State Vikings to the Brigham Athletic Complex tonight, Gordon College Women's Soccer scored four times in the second to secure the 4 - 0 shutout over the Vikings. 

How It Happened

• The Fighting Scots controlled the tempo of the first 45 minutes of the game, but were unable to draw first blood as the score remained nil-nil at halftime. 
• Breaking through early in the second half, Taylor Talesnick booted in a perfectly placed corner kick, finding the head of Francie Leffler to put Gordon on top, 1 - 0.
• Extending their lead six minutes later, Ava Forbes-Smith fed Eowyn Lapp who juked her defender before ripping it past the Vikings' keeper to make the score 2 - 0.
• In the 86th minute, Lapp decided to record her first multi-goal game of her collegiate career by finding the back of the net off of a Nina Ruiz pass (3 - 0). Capping off the evening in the 89th minute, Lapp found Talesnick who ripped in a shot to put Gordon on top 4 - 0 for the eventual win.  

Beyond The Box Score

• Francie Leffler recorded her first career goal as a Scot.
• The Scots have now defeated the Vikings in three straight meetings. 
• Gordon returns to action on Saturday, September 30 to play the Wentworth Leopards on The Quad at 12 p.m. to celebrate Senior Day as well as Homecoming.
