Scots Sink Vikings In North Shore Duel

Welcoming the Salem State Vikings to the Brigham Athletic Complex tonight, Gordon College Women's Soccer scored four times in the second to secure the 4 - 0 shutout over the Vikings.Ā

How It Happened
  • The Fighting Scots controlled the tempo of the first 45 minutes of the game, but were unable to draw first blood as the score remained nil-nil at halftime.Ā
  • Breaking through early in the second half, Taylor Talesnick booted in a perfectly placed corner kick, finding the head of Francie Leffler to put Gordon on top, 1 - 0.
  • Extending their lead six minutes later, Ava Forbes-Smith fedĀ Eowyn Lapp whoĀ jukedĀ her defender before ripping it past the Vikings' keeper to make the score 2 - 0.
  • In the 86th minute, Lapp decided to record her first multi-goal game of her collegiate career by finding the back of the net off of a Nina Ruiz pass (3 - 0). Capping off the evening in the 89th minute, Lapp found Talesnick who ripped in a shot to put Gordon on top 4 - 0 for the eventual win.Ā Ā
