Gordon College Women's Soccer took the pitch this afternoon at the Brigham Athletic Complex, welcoming the Westfield State Owls in non-conference action. After 90 minutes of play, the Fighting Scots made it two in a row as they defeated the Owls 2 - 0. 

How It Happened

• The Fighting Scots took the lead in the 15th minute after junior Kristi DiRico sent in a pass from the right side finding rookie Eowyn Lapp who shook one defender before ripping in her second tally of the season in the upper 90 to put the Scots on top, 1 - 0. 
• As the second half started, Gordon College and Westfield State continued with their aggressive tactics as each team ended the play with eight fouls a piece. 
• In the 83 minute, Lapp sent in a shot, which deflected off the Owls' goalie, before finding the feet of Nina Ruiz who laced one into the back of the net, widening the Scots lead to 2 - 0 on the afternoon and securing the eventually victory.

• Eowyn Lapp has now scored in two straight games to open up her career as a Fighting Scot.
• Emily Bengtson booked her second consecutive shut-out in today's match.
