MEET RESULTS
The Gordon College Women's Swim Team traveled to Providence, Rhode Island to face the Anchorwomen of Rhode Island College tonight. After over a month layoff, the Fighting Scots recorded multiple first place finishes, but the home team was narrowly able to defeat the blue and white, 128-122.
By The Numbers
- Grace Haxhinasto went the distance in the 1000 yard freestyle, taking first place with a time of 13:27.80.
- Katherine Maloney followed that up with another top spot, but in the 200 yard freestyle (2:13.09).
- In the next two events, the Scots recorded two second place finishes: Lily Brooks claimed second in the 50 yard backstroke (34.67), while Arwen Hefner came in second (38.90) in the 50 yard breaststroke.
- It was a one-two punch in the 100 yard butterfly as Gina Ouellette and Haxhinasto booked times of 1:12.20 and 1:18.45, respectively.
- Isabella Gadouas was the second swimmer to touch the wall in the 50 yard freestyle thanks to a time of 28.44.
- Haxhinasto added another second place finish for the Scots in the 100 yard freestyle (1:03.63).
- Brooks came away with her first crown of the evening in the 100 yard backstroke (1:12.96).
- Maloney booked her second first place finish after touching the wall 50 seconds ahead of the second place swimmer (6:01.34) in the 500 yard freestyle.
- Ouellette and Maloney each collected two more second place times for the blue and white in the 50 yard butterfly (31.40) and 100 yard IM (1:09.86), respectively.
- Gordon's 200 yard freestyle relay squad of Gadouas, M.Kay Farkas, Hefner, and Haxhinasto orchestrated a first place finish thanks to a time of 2:00.13.
The Fighting Scots return to action on Monday, January 15 as they travel up to Maine to face the Monks of Saint Joseph's at 4 p.m.
